Toddler Program
18 months up to 3 years
Busy hands, big ideas, and boundless energy
Toddlers learn best through action—by touching, moving, and exploring their world. Our Toddler program channels that natural energy into meaningful play that builds independence, communication, and cooperation. At this stage, children are learning to do more for themselves, make choices, and build relationships. Educators encourage that growing independence through consistent routines, small-group learning, and plenty of hands-on purposeful play.
At a Glance
Predictable daily routines that foster confidence and independence.

Daily Care & Routines
Toddlers thrive on structure, balanced with freedom to explore. Educators promote independence and self-confidence while maintaining familiar daily routines.

Toddlers nap on cots in their rooms, following lunch time.

Children eat at the table and begin serving themselves during family-style dining—learning to share, building fine motor skills and taking pride in their choices.
Play
Both indoor and outdoor play are essential parts of every day.
Toilet Training
Potty training begins when children show signs of readiness. Educators partner with families to maintain a positive, consistent approach. Learn more about our Toilet Training policies here.
Learning & Development
Our educators build on each toddler’s natural curiosity with intentional, engaging, play-based experiences, rooted in an Emergent Curriculum, that strengthen skills across four key areas.
Motor Skills
Guided movement, music, and art activities, in combination with Munchkinetics, build balance, coordination, and fine motor control. Educators encourage climbing, dancing, pouring, and grasping to promote growing independence.
Language
Through conversation, songs, labeling their environment, and inquiry, educators expand toddlers’ vocabulary and comprehension, helping them express thoughts and emotions with confidence.
Cognitive Growth
Teachers introduce sorting, matching, and problem-solving games that spark early logic and curiosity about how things work.
Social–Emotional Development
Educators model empathy, cooperation, and turn-taking, supporting toddlers as they begin developing a sense of self, while forming friendships and recognizing the feelings of others.
Proprietary & Enrichment Experiences
Toddlers are introduced to proprietary learning programs and enrichment experiences that make learning exciting and fun:
- Munchkinetics, our movement and physical education program, builds coordination, balance, and self-confidence through music and physical play.
- Sign Language strengthens communication and helps toddlers express needs while language develops.
- Yoga promotes calm, mindfulness, and body awareness through playful stretching and breathing.
Our Toddler Program focuses on building independence and confidence. As children learn to navigate routines, express themselves, and engage with peers, they gain a sense of belonging and pride in their growing abilities. Educators nurture each child’s curiosity while helping them feel secure in their environment—laying the groundwork for confident, capable learners ready to take on their next big adventures.

Transition Week
To ensure a smooth and positive start to care, Kids & Company provides families the benefit of a transition week.
Transition week begins one week prior to your child’s first week of care and is a five-day schedule designed to gradually introduce children to their new learning environments, educators, and peers. It helps to ease separation anxiety and to foster an overall positive introduction to care for the whole family.
