Meet the Director

Dana Theriault

My name is Dana Theriault, and I am the Centre Director at Kids & Company’s Nanaimo location. I hold an ECE certificate, and while my first formal role in child care began in 2019, my experience with children started much earlier through babysitting family, friends, and neighbours. I am deeply passionate about child care because supporting children has always been a meaningful part of who I am. From a young age, I connected naturally with children, understanding their emotions, celebrating their individuality, and creating a sense of trust and belonging. My work is guided by empathy, care, and the belief that every child deserves to feel safe, loved, and confident as they explore the world. I am grateful to be part of their milestones, discoveries, and development. I enjoy working at Kids & Company because it offers a supportive, professional environment that encourages growth. The open communication, understanding management, and dedicated educators make me proud to be part of a team that truly prioritizes quality child care. Our Nanaimo location is a hidden gem. Surrounded by forest, it gives children a sense of adventure and freedom as they explore nature, discover wildlife, and enjoy outdoor learning. The space allows us to be creative with play and learning while maintaining Kids & Company’s high standards. Being part of a small, close-knit team makes it personal and welcoming, and I cherish the lasting bonds we’ve built with the children and families. It’s a special place where nature, care, and connection come together, inspiring me every day.
