Meet the Director

Cathy Choi

My name is Cathy Choi, and I am the Centre Director at Kids & Company’s North Vancouver location. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English from Korea and spent time studying in New Zealand, which broadened my cultural perspective and strengthened my communication skills. I later pursued Early Childhood Education in Vancouver, combining international education, language skills, and child-development training to support families with empathy, lead my team effectively, and create a nurturing environment where children can thrive. I have been working in child care for over seven years.  I am passionate about early childhood education because I believe in the power of early experiences to shape a child’s confidence, curiosity, and sense of belonging. I love building secure attachments with children, supporting their development, and creating a safe, loving environment where they feel understood.  What I enjoy most about Kids & Company is the opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day. Guiding and mentoring my team ensures each child receives responsive, high-quality care. Watching children grow socially, emotionally, and developmentally reminds me why this work is so rewarding.  Our location is unique because of the strong teamwork and mutual respect among our educators. We support one another, share laughter, and step in whenever needed. This collaborative, positive atmosphere creates a welcoming environment for both staff and families and directly reflects the quality of care we provide.
